Apple vs Amahi

Read:
Absurd for Apple to try to pick on Amahi. Wonder what the true motive is ? By making this move, Apple is actually trying to give an impression it may not want, which is, Apple is targeting the Open Source community (by picking on Amahi) which can be an accidental impression.

Apple needs to trod on this issue carefully or it would find itself isolated and flamed by the Open Source Community.

Locked down Android

Read:
Android is becoming a controlled platofrm like Apple's iPhone thanks to companies like Motorola who does not respect the consumers and their rights to modify and also the openness of Android which Motorola is delberately demolishing.
If Google doesn't squeeze phone makers like Motorola, to follow the openness of what Android should be, how would Google's fragmented Android platform be any better than iPhone's closed source iOS ?

FOSS or the open source community should create a list of non-open source compliant companies and rally a campaign in an attempt to change such a scenario.

UPDATE

Read:
Android's in a mess. Now it's hard to tell who to trust.

Pot calling the kettle black

Read:
Microsoft is doing it simply so they can benefit as well from terms like 'App Store'. Both of them, Apple and Microsoft - one is a kettle, other is a pot... - are all black to start with.

Kill off your JailBroken i

Read:
Imagine Apple remote killing off your i. You can imagine what more they can do to you besides remote kill switch, 'protecting' you from 'Unauthorized Usage'...etc... and maybe your data is safe too in their hands.

Apple Cheats By Tweaking iOS signal bar

We have all heard of Apple's claims that the signal bar is the main course of the supposed lost of signal strength rather then how a person grips and holds the phone.

Read:
I doubt I need to pull much sources and paste them here... everyone knows that Apple's being cheating using that supposed signal bar software fix to get away with the problems.

Apple better be honest and get the antenna fixed rather then using 'illusions' like tweaking the codes for the signal bar software.

People's trust of Apple products and integrity would drop unless Apple admits the antenna problem and that the tweaking of the signal bar software does not fix anything.

Apple's HTML 5

Read this: http://www.osnews.com/story/23411/Apple_s_HTML5_Showcase_Isn_t_HTML5_Blocks_Other_Browsers

Apple claims to showcase HTML 5 but this showcase is the HTML 5 that only Safari can perform. It block the Firefox 3.5 browser I used to access it. Why doesn't it allow other browsers to take the test ? Isn't it purely not being open and fair to other browsers ? Oh well, Apple has been known to be unfair and close anyway even though it did contribute in open source projects, it did it for it's own gains in the end.

Below is the screenshot of my Firefox 3.5 browser trying to access the HTML 5 showcase page. It's highly misleading.

Possible logic behind attempting to kill Theora

Read: http://www.osnews.com/story/23233/Jobs_Patent_Pool_Being_Assembled_To_Go_After_Theora

Here's something to think about. If you want your own video format to be the dominating one, what do you do to cut the competition and be King ? Isn't it obvious ? Destroy thy enemies ! There's only two huge competitors for HTML 5 video, H264 or OGG. If either side manages to annihilate the other, the surviving would be King. Since both sides are equally famous and hard to kill, some of the H264 side (e.g. Apple) decides to take on the offensive first to 'launch the nukes' at OGG. Will this escalate into an interesting all out war ? We'll see in months to come...
